The Arlington 55+ pass is $40 per Arlington household per year, and the 55+ Gold pass is $105/year (which also provides access to all of Arlington County’s fitness facilities except for the Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center).

Description

Description

Founded in 2002, Encore Learning Arlington is a volunteer-run organization offering college-level classes taught by pro-bono instructors to people aged 50+. The Academic Programs committee creates a schedule of 30–40 courses. Special Events brings public lectures, panels, and film screenings with Encore Learning Presents held on Mondays at 3:00 p.m. There are many ways to volunteer and become engaged to expand your world.

Cost

Annual membership dues are $65 per person, giving full access to all special events and clubs, and the right to enroll in courses (at an additional cost of $55 per course). Please note: Annual dues are nonrefundable and nontransferable.

Description

Northern Virginia Senior Softball provides recreational slow-pitch softball for adult men and women, 50 years and older, to keep members active and engaged socially. Given the broad range of ages served, with members ranging in age from 50 to 80+, all members are assessed and assigned to one of three conferences based on their skills and abilities. The intent is for members to play with and against others of comparable capabilities. Every effort is made to keep the games safe and fun.

Description

In collaboration with the nation’s largest choral program for singers aged 55+, Encore Creativity for Older Adults offers a chorus tailored for individuals with early or beginning moderate Alzheimer's and other memory impairments. Chorus participants and their care partners will engage in learning both familiar and new songs in three-part harmony. Meetings take place online, as well as in Fairfax and Alexandria.
