Description

During tax season (February 4 through April 15), this service pairs you with volunteers who will help with your income tax preparation. Note: your tax situation must be within the scope and training of the volunteers. Help is available on Tuesdays from 10 a.m.–7 p.m. and Thursdays from 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

Cost

There is no cost for this program, but it is available only to individuals and families with income less than $64,000.

Arlington County Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP)

Description

The Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP) provides in-depth, one-on-one insurance counseling to Medicare Beneficiaries, their families, friends and caregivers. Trained and certified VICAP counselors provide free, unbiased and confidential assistance. VICAP serves Arlington County Residents.

Arlington Money Management Program

Description

Arlington Money Management Program provides assistance for Arlington residents aged 60+ in Arlington on how to manage basic with financing tasks. This is primarily a bill-paying service, but may also include day-to-day management and monitoring expenses among other things.

Arlington Thrive’s Community Navigator

Description

Arlington Thrive’s Community Navigator prioritizes individual needs and responds with tailored support. They provide short-term case management, financial counseling, guidance, and essential training to enhance clients’ earning capacity. By empowering and supporting individuals, the Community Navigator plays a crucial role in their journey towards long-term stability.

Cost

There are eligibility requirements for this program, and you must be referred to it by the Arlington County Aging & Disability Resource Center.

Real Estate Tax Relief Program (exemption and/or deferral)

Description

The Real Estate Tax Relief provides an exemption and/or deferral of all or a portion of the real estate taxes for qualified Arlington homeowners age 65 and older who have title to the property and meet income, asset, and all eligibility requirements. Applications accepted from January through November 15.
